THE SURPRISING VALUE OF THE CORONAVIRUS EPIDEMIC
Amid all the trying situations we endure in the days of the Coronavirus Epidemic, some valuable truths may be very helpful to those who are interested. Did you know that the Bible provides great insights in challenging times like these? Though we may come from different backgrounds and experiences, we are all together, traveling on a special purpose, for the pleasure of the living God.
So, whoever you are, and whatever you are doing today, here is one thing I know, and hopefully you want to know.
Ready? God is alive. Jesus Christ is God, and He rules this world. It doesn’t matter what you think, or don’t think. The Lord God Almighty eternally rules all, and He does what He determines for His glory.
Now as we deal with the Coronavirus Epidemic, allow the Bible passages below to bring you help and encouragement for your soul. Seek to apply each one daily in your life. And whether you face a Coronavirus Epidemic or not, turn to Christ and ask Him to grow you in knowing Him and making Him known. Below, please read each verse, giving time to meditate on each passage. Also, ask God to speak to your heart, as you trust Him in these trying days.
1. Consider this reality found in Ecclesiastes 7:14, “When things are going well for you be glad, and when trouble comes, just remember, God sends both happiness and trouble, you never know what is going to happen.” It’s really easy to trust God when everything is going well. Now is the time to put all your faith in our Father and trust His direction when we don’t know what He is doing.
2. Also, it will do you well to contemplate on the truth found in Romans 5:3-5, “And not only this, but we glory in tribulations also; knowing that tribulation works patience; and patience, character; and character, hope: And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit of God which is given to us.” Whatever this virus brings, it can be to our advantage if we look for how God is trying to teach us patience, character and hope. And that hope is in Him.
3. Find encouragement in the comforting truth presented in 2 Timothy 1:12, “I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him (Jesus) against that day.” God is well able to protect us and defend us against every enemy, including something as horrible as this virus.
4. Never forget this awesome reality located in 2 Corinthians 2:14: “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.” In other words, remember that God is ready to triumph in every place, including those places where the virus seems to be winning.
So while most of us are staying inside during this Corona virus Epidemic, we ought to find ourselves paying more attention to important things. Let us contend with faith, confidence, character, and hope during these difficult trials. And, keep in mind that God Himself is actually bringing about good things in these days.
Writer Paul David Tripp provides us a truth that we need to cherish. He writes, “Moments of apparent defeat become wonderful moments of grace and victory.” We can believe this and rely on God during the Coronavirus Epidemic.
