4 STEPS TO CHANGE SAD, BAD DAYS TO GLAD DAYS IN FAMILY

Though families wish it isn’t the case, sad and bad days occasionally come in home life. When they do, two options exist. On the one hand, we can bemoan and hate it. Or, we decide to make the very best out of tough situations. Below are 4 Steps to Change Sad, Bad Days to Glad Days in Family

 

  1. When sad, bad days come in family, remember this statement: If life gives you a lemon, make lemonade. We know that adversity may cause us to be angry or troubled. However, to overcome one needs to rise up with courage and embrace a can-do attitude amid difficulties. Heed writer Barbara De Angelis’ insight. She says, “We don’t develop courage by being happy every day. We develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity.”

 

  1. When sad, bad days come in family, know many others are dealing with worst things than you. No matter how difficult your day may seem, realize there are millions of people facing greater sad and bad experiences. Remember that misery loves company. Consider what the late Brian Moore wrote: “ If misery loves company, then triumph demands an audience.”

 

  1. When sad, bad days come in family, find a friend who sticks closer than a brother or sister. Don’t you agree that every once in a while, we need that special someone who lets us vent. Rely on that special person who is willing to let you cry on their shoulder. Musician Dave Matthews put it this way, “I’ll lean on you, and you lean on me, and we’ll be okay.”
  2. When sad, bad days come in family, turn to the only One who truly can comfort you – Jesus! Find help in the lines from an old hymn. Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged. Take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful, Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; Take it to the Lord in prayer.”
