Everyone possesses a fear of something or someone, and our responses may range from brief surprise all the way to extraordinary anxiety. So take a moment and list the top things that you fear, asking why are you afraid of such things. Now let’s briefly consider 5 Essentials To Deal With Your Fears.
F – Face Your Fears. The key to overcome most fears is to know that nearly all of them really aren’t going to hurt or harm you. However, for the few areas that may be a big deal, allow the concepts below to strengthen you in gaining victory over your fears.
E – Examine Your Fears. Now dealing with your fears includes the courage to examine what scares you. And by inviting a few others to help you evaluate the who, or the what, behind your fears can really make a difference. Ask friends to help you tackle what you’re afraid of. Having others come alongside and join in examining what triggers the fears builds up confidence in conquering anxiety.
A – Attack Your Fears. Instead of allowing your phobias to win, attack them. Have you ever heard: The best defense is a good offense? So rather than waiting for the next time you’re scared, take the offensive by having an attitude ready to attack it. Learn to talk out loud against negative emotions and charge with courage against feelings of fear. Say to yourself, “I am more than a conqueror.”
R – Reign Over Your Fears. No longer allow your fears to rule and boss you around. By attacking them as “more than a conqueror,” say to yourself, “Fear, you won’t reign over me. I refuse to be tricked and resist your efforts to make me afraid.”
S – Surrender Your Fears. And the way we do this is by faith. When you’re afraid, take your worries to the Lord and leave them there. God says, “Do not fear, for I am with you Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” – – Isaiah 41:10
