3 REASONS WE SHOULD TREAT EVERYDAY
AS EASTER IN OUR HEARTS.
As Easter draws near, many in our culture will treat the day in a secular way. Sadly, numbers will completely ignore it. Then, there are those who will put on their best attire and attend a once-a-year church service. Regrettably, multitudes fail to appreciate the real joy of Easter. Consider 3 reasons why Easter should define our heart every day.
1. Every day we should celebrate Easter, for the marvel is Christ truly rose from the dead and is alive forevermore.
The Bible presents, “He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. After that, He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles” (ICorinthians 15:5-7). It is true! Christ rose from the dead and reigns in life forever and forever.”
2. Every day we should celebrate Easter, for Christ alone deserves unending praise and adoration.
In our hearts we should declare over and over again: “Oh come let us adore Him. Oh come let us adore Him. Oh come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.” Pay attention that in 2 Peter 1:1b the Scripture emphasizes, Jesus is both “our God and Savior.”
3. Every day we should celebrate Easter, for Christ really arose from the dead and this is the reason Christianity exists and we have eternal life.
The Scripture presents, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and He must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”(Luke 9:22).Not only did Jesus predict His own resurrection, but hundreds of times in the Old Testament it was prophesied that Jesus would come down from heaven, suffer, die on the cross, then rise from the dead. Fact is, in the Old Testament the entire life of Christ is prophesied in detail. This includes the message of the resurrection. If we do not have a risen Savior, we do not have Christianity. But hallelujah, He is risen and we can enjoy the benefits of His sacrifice! And we can celebrate this joy not only on Easter Day but every single day of the year!
