3 REASONS TO BELIEVE

IN YOUR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE

How vital to believe in marriage and family! Those who fail to do so empower breakdown in home life. While, on the other hand, believing in marriage and family empowers households to grow from good to great.

1. Believe in marriage and family life, because ignoring or taking it for granted harms yourself and others.

Heed the words of Professor Suzanne E. Anderson, who writes, “Isn’t that the greatest tragedy? When someone rejects us, no matter how they abuse our love, we hope against reason that somehow they will come back to us.” The key to restoration in marriage and family life is a willingness to forgive others and practice unconditional love.  Make a point of taking time each day to pay attention to your mate. Listening is more important than being heard.

2. Believe in marriage and family life, because the foundation of society depends on the success of healthy homes.

The strength of our culture and nation rests upon strong households. Thus, we should determine with all our might to make marriage and family life void of conflict, always moving from good to great. The late commentator, Earl Nightingale, said it best, “Learn to enjoy every minute of your life…Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy…Think how really precious is the time you have to spend…in marriage and family life. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.”

3. Believe in marriage and family life, because the Lord Jesus Christ does.

Think about it. God the Heavenly Father sent His Son to be born in a family. As an adult, Christ’s mission was to help broken marriage and family members. When Jesus died on the cross, He gave His life to save marriages and families. God the Father views all marriage and family members, as His children.

Now take to heart what the late Billy Graham said, “Nothing can bring a real sense of security into the home except true love.” So from now into eternity be sure you believe in marriage and family life. God does!
