Living in a family represents the primary arena where our real self emerges. Because we constantly relate to loved ones in home life, the best and worst may flow from us.

However when we give thanks with the right spirit, we impact our family members for good. This encouraging action lifts loved ones, because giving sincere thanks shows we appreciate them. Whether they outwardly respond back or not, deep inside we have touched their hearts.

Here are 4 Reasons To Give Thanks for your Family:

1.  Give thanks, because you owe your life to your family. Tell your mother and father how thankful you are for your very existence.

2. Give thanks, because of the many sacrifices family members have made in your behalf.  Share how you realize the numerous ways they cared for you as a baby, a child, a teenager.

3.  Give thanks, because you recognize even now how important family members are. Don’t take your loved ones for granted. Look them in the eye and share how  thankful you are for them.

4.  Give thanks, because this is the will of God concerning you. Offer thanksgiving to Jesus for the truths below:

“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 4:18).

“We give thanks to God always for all of you, making mention of you in our prayers”
(1 Thessalonians 1:2).

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57).

AND REMEMBER THIS THANKSGIVING: “He took bread and gave thanks to God in the presence of all, and he broke it and began to eat” (Acts 27:35).
