4 MOVES TO MAKE WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR JOY
By Dr. James A. Perkins

All of us know the feeling, when joy drifts away. And some people go so far and become the most miserable, joyless people on the planet. So how can we restore the joy lost and rise to joyfully impact our relationships in marriage, family, among friends, acquaintances, and even strangers. Here’s H.E.L.P. in the 4 MOVES TO MAKE WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR JOY:

H. – Hunt for How Your Joy Left. When joy goes, then ask yourself questions about the Who? What? When? Where? Why? And How? that caused it. Identifying the loss is the first step in getting your joy back.

E. – Examine why You can’t Seem to get it Back. Write down the reasons that keep you from allowing joy to return and fill your heart.

L. – Lift up your Life to Claim your joy by Faith. Most people define joy in how they feel emotionally, but real joy doesn’t depend on feelings. Real joy comes from an inner determination to live by faith and not by feelings. Feelings come and go, but real joy can be found and sustained, when we determine to claim by faith that joy is ours regardless. The onl kind of faith that lasts comes from only one source, so . . .

P. – Pursue the One who Gives such Joy. If you’re a pleasure seeker, then embrace the only One who offers real, lasting joy. Only by enjoying a personal relationship with Jesus can such joy be found. So pursue these 2 truths:
1. Learn that “the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10).
2. And Jesus says, “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full” (John 15:11).

Now without relying on feelings but by faith, accept Jesus is your fullness of joy every moment of the day. Then go and live a joy-filled life.
