Too many people in this world live fake lives. Many strive and pretend to be someone they really aren’t. Here are 4Steps in being an authentic, real deal person.

  1. Determine to always tell the truth. It is claimed that George Washington never told a lie. From this day forward will you commit to always being honest and telling the truth no matter what? If people want to be real and authentic, being honest about who they are really matters

  2. If you happen to fail in telling the truth, immediately repent and take full responsibility for your fault. The Bible warns, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23). Realize failing to tell the truth brings guilt, shame and despair. Everyone makes mistakes, but it is the real authentic person who will admit their wrong.

  3. Find freedom in the truth. The wise Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn stated,“The simple step of a courageous individual is not to take part in the lie. One word of truth outweighs the world.” Nothing feels better than clearing your conscience.

  4. Follow Jesus’ model, for He is the One who forever remains perfectly true. He tells us, “You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free.”  The freedom that comes with authentic, truthful living gives you a peace that passes understanding.  Plus, you don’t have to remember which lie you told to whom.  You will find yourself living an authentic, real life as an authentic real deal person.

Can you say living in the truth defines your life? Why not embrace Mark Twain’s simple insight. He said, “When in doubt, tell the Truth.” So are you an authentic, real deal person.
